In 1921, Tsunekichi Fujishima began doing lacquerware craft in Takaoka, Japan. Ikkan Fujishima is Japanese traditional craftsman and continues to protect his grand father’s technique with his father from now.
We have a lot of wood materials took over from grand father, Tsunekichi, and sometimes we take materials over from local people who rebuild their house. Our product is finished with lacquer, called “The Takaoka lacquerware craft”. The Takaoka lacquerware has a history of more than 800 years. (more information about The Takaoka lacquerware)
